Item Description For your consideration is a Japanese art book from the Japanese Modern Suibokuga series, which features a collection of masterworks of Ink and Wash (SUIBOKUGA or SUMIE in Japanese) or Nihonga Paintings created by notable painters who were active between Meiji and Showa era in modern Japan. This volume 9 features selected 61 works of 11 Suibokuga and Nihonga masters in Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods, including Shiko Imamura, Yukihiko Yasuda, Ogawa Usen. Includes full-color plates of the whole and close-up part of the 61 ink brush paintings, along with titles, sizes, production dates, brief comments on each work by a Japanese art historian Tanio Nakamura. Be aware that the entire text is in Japanese. White pages have some stains due to age but contents are intact. Hardcover book housed in an original slipcase, first published by Kodansha in 1984 in Japan, measures approximately 270x264mm(10.6×10.4″;closed) with 84 pages. Preowned but still in good condition, with some signs of aging and light general wear, with mild edge wear and discoloration, mild wear to corners/spine ends, some scratches and dents on cover and edges, otherwise a clean and tight copy, with photographs intact, no markings/notes inside, no torn/missing page.
