What is the difference between Copic Acrea and Copic Sketch (Copic Ciao, Copic Classic)? A. Copic Classic, Sketch, and Ciao are alcohol-based dye ink markers. Dye inks are mainly suitable for coloring paper, as they develop their color by soaking into the paper. They are transparent and suitable for layered effects and gradations. On the other hand, Copic Copic Acrea is a water-based pigment ink marker. Pigment ink has larger particles than dye ink and stays on the paper, so it is opaque and hides the color underneath. Therefore, Copic Acrea can be used on a variety of materials other than paper, such as plastic, acrylic, film, and wood. Q. Can I mix Copic Acrea inks? A. It is possible to mix several colors on a palette. Please note that mixing colors using the Copic Acrea pen tip may stain the pen tip and affect the original ink color. Q. Can I color Copic Acrea with Copic alcohol markers on top of Copic Acrea? A. Copic Acrea is not alcohol-resistant. Therefore, the ink on the part painted with alcohol markers will dissolve and run. If you use them together, we recommend using them on top of a work made with alcohol markers. Q. Can Copic Acrea be used with other markers? A. Copic Acrea can be used on top of works created with alcohol markers such as Copic Sketch. Copic Acrea Snow White has a high hiding power that completely hides the color underneath, and has been developed to be less susceptible to the ink of Copic alcohol markers, so we recommend using it as a highlighter.
